The French Victory
Pau Grand Prix, 10 April 1938

After a great fight between Rudolf Caracciola on his Mercedes W154 and the Delahaye 145 V12 of René Dreyfus, in the 52nd lap, Caracciola did a pit stop and had given the Mercedes to Herrmann Lang, because Caracciola had some pains in his right leg resulting of the serious crash at the Monaco Grand Prix 1933. Despite the come back of the Lang’s Mercedes, Dreyfus lead the race until the arrival. It is a great victory for Delahaye, because it is the only victory of French car's against the Silver Arrows in Grand Prix between 1934 and 1939.
